12 Days Kenya - Tanzania - Zanzibar Combination Safari

Day 01: Nairobi Arrival: Start your magical and transformative Safari holiday today as you board your flight to Kenya, the heart of African Safari. On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our Silverbird Representative for briefing and be transferred to your city hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival timings, you will then drive through the City Centre, and the lovely Karen area of Nairobi on your way to visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which does an amazing job rescuing orphaned and injured elephants and rhinos from the wild, healing and repatriating them. They only welcome visitors from 11:30- 12:30 daily, so it will be a leisurely start to the day. After that, you will visit the Giraffe Education Centre where you will be introduced to the Rothschild giraffe, recently saved from extinction by this organization. You can even “kiss” one if you want! You’ve all seen pictures of that hotel where the giraffes run loose and pop their heads into bedroom windows? This is basically the backyard of that hotel, same giraffes, but this comes with an impressive

Day 02: Nairobi - Nakuru National Park:

7:00 am - check out and start your drive to

Lake Nakuru National Park to arrive in time for

Lunch and Leisure. This little park is a haven

for rhinos and guests will see a number of

them grazing the shoreline of the lake or

wallowing in the mud. Lake Nakuru, a

shallow, Soda Lake in the Rift Valley was once

famous for being home to some of the biggest

flocks of flamingos in the world. Lake Nakuru

Park is famous for its large concentration of

flamingos and also you may get a chance of spotting the rare white rhinos and many bird species it’s branded as the “Birds' paradise”. For Bird lovers, this is an absolutely wonderful place to do bird watching. Overnight stay at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge (BLD)

Day 03: Nakuru -Masai Mara National

Reserve:

At 6:30 am, breakfast will be served followed

by check out, drive to the Masai Mara

National Reserve offers wonderful scenery

and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only

region left in Kenya where the visitor may see

animals in the same super-abundance as

existed a century ago. Arrive for lunch and

leisure at your Camp. An afternoon game drive

will be arranged until sunset. This reserve has

hilly savanna, rolling grassland, and gallery forest on the Mara River and its tributaries. The large

predators are the lion, leopard, and cheetah. The smaller predators are the hyena and jackal.

The large herbivores are the elephant, rhino, zebra, hippo, buffalo, and giraffe. The large

herbivores are the antelopes and bucks. The Masai ostrich, the world’s largest bird is found in

Day 04: Masai Mara National Reserve:

Rise before dawn for a spectacular Hot Air

Balloon ride followed by a bubbly bush

breakfast (optional at extra cost). Or proceed

for an early morning game drive. Return to

the lodge for lunch then later, set out on a

late afternoon game-spotting safari in the

reserve and the opportunity to spot Africa’s

‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and

buffalo. You may witness the lion making a kill

or a leopard enjoying the meal he had

dragged up the tree with him. The vegetation

is mostly savanna type with forested areas near the rivers and of course the dwarf acacias to cater to the giraffes. More than 60 species of animals are found here and countless bird species including the Masai ostrich and the secretary bird. This is where the great migration of the wildebeest takes place. Day 05: Masai Mara -Serengeti National

Reserve:

At 5:00 am, you will depart with a Box breakfast from your lodge in Masai Mara and drive to the Kenya-Tanzania border at Isebania. You will be assisted by our drivers to clear customs and immigration and then be taken to the airstrip for your flight to Northern Serengeti where you will be received by Our Tanzania representatives. You will then be transferred to the lodge game viewing en route. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous national park, home to dozens of species including antelope, hyenas, leopards, giraffes, lions, buffalo, and cheetahs. Serengeti National Park which is undoubtedly one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world is unequaled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere. A large pride of lions laze in the long grasses; plentiful families of elephants feed on acacia bark and trumpet to each other across the plains, while giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, eland, and the whole range of African wildlife present themselves in awe-inspiring numbers. Day 06: Serengeti National Reserve:

After breakfast at 8:00 am – armed with picnic lunch boxes, depart for a full-day game drive to venture out and discover the Serengeti which is one of the most famous parks in Africa and is synonymous with wildlife and

classic African scenery. A UNESCO World

Heritage Site & home to the spectacular

wildebeest migration that offers top-class

wildlife viewing throughout the year. It is the

Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps the most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile infest river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves, and protected areas and through a variety of habitats. Day 07: Serengeti -Ngorongoro Conservation Area:

At 6:30 am, breakfast will be served before

guests head off toward the Ngorongoro

Conservation Area, where the drive descends into the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Here guests enjoy an afternoon game drive, with lunch boxes, and have the chance to see the ‘Big 5’ in one of the most unique settings in East Africa. You will then visit a Masai village in Ngorongoro Crater, this is a promising and wonderful experience, wearing their traditional red robes with elaborate beadwork and bells, the Maasai people are the most known of all nomadic tribes out there. Day 08: Ngorongoro -Lake Manyara Park:

9:00 am - Take a short drive from Ngorongoro

to Lake Manyara to arrive in time for lunch

is home to an incredible array of bird life

including thousands of pink-hued flamingos,

Day 09: Lake Manyara Park -Zanzibar Island:
