Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi JKIA (Kenya)

Upon arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) you go through the immigration

and customs formalities. Outside the terminal building you are met by our representative and

assisted to your transfer vehicle. From here followed by a road transfer to your hotel in Nairobi.

Accommodation: Karen Inn and Suites (breakfast included)

Day 2: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Kenya)

After breakfast, it is time to start your safari! Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive through the

agricultural farmlands en-route towards Nanyuki. Stop at the equator for a photo and demonstration

on how water spins North and South of the equator. Continue your safari towards the Ol Pejeta

Conservancy; a 90,000-acre private fenced conservancy situated between the Aberdare Mountains

and Mount Kenya. As part of the southern Laikipia wilderness, Ol Pejeta works to protect its distinct habitats, including a wildlife corridor along the northern boundary of the conservancy. It has also created a sanctuary for chimpanzees, working in close conjunction with the Jane Goodall Institute. A visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary is included.

Accommodation: Serena Sweetwaters (full board)

Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Kenya)

After breakfast, leave the camp/lodge and start exploring this private wildlife conservancy. The

the conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and in 2013 reached a population milestone of 100 black rhinos. Besides the rhino, the reserve also hosts all the other members of the

'Big Five' (elephant, lion, buffalo and leopard). Go on a game drive venture out there for close encounters, and if you are lucky you might even spot the endangered African wild dogs.

Safari by vehicle is not the only option at Ol Pejeta. Game walks, horse rides and even camel rides are available, as are nocturnal game drives. These activities can be booked either in advance or directly at the lodge.

Accommodation: Serena Sweetwaters (full board)

Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Nakuru area (Kenya)

After breakfast depart from Ol Pejeta and continue your safari via Nyahururu with a stopover at

Thomson's Falls en-route to Nakuru. Pass the town and go the Kembu Cottages; located on an 800

acre farm where one can enjoy the freedom to go on long walks, relax or pursue any one of the many activities offered by Kembu. Crisp clean air and ample space makes for an ideal family

sojourn where children can help feed horses, calves and chickens and burn up their excess energy.

Accommodation:  Kembu Cottages (full board)

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park (Kenya)

From the Kembu farm it is only a short drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Here is where you will

start exploring the wooded and bushy grassland of the beautiful park. The lake was known for its

many flamingos but because of the high water level) these are currently diverted to other lakes.

However, still there are approx. 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of

game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino,

waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

Accommodation: Flamingo Hill Camp (full board)

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

Enjoy a short morning game drive through the park when proceeding to the Masai Mara Game

Reserve. Your next stop is in Narok town; the main trading town for Narok County and also your last

town before getting into this renowned reserve. Check in at the camp/lodge and later proceed for an

afternoon game drive.

Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (full board)

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

After breakfast, leave the camp/lodge and start exploring the rolling grasslands and wide-open

spaces in search of wildlife of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara National Reserve is

Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been

recorded here. And considering the time of the year you visit, you have the exciting opportunity to

spot the phenomenal annual wildebeest migration (although it cannot be guaranteed).

For this day, you can discuss your final program with your guide. Whether you want to go out for the

whole day with lunch boxes or return back at the camp for a lunch break and relaxing followed by an

afternoon game drive.

Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (full board)

Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve – Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)

After breakfast go on your last game drive in this magnificent reserve. After that it is time to collect

your things and prepare to drive to Serengeti National Park through the ISEBANIA border. A picnic lunch will be taken to eat on the go. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Serengeti National Park  for a game drive and overnight at Lobo Wildlife Lodge.

Accommodation: Lobo Wildlife Lodge (full board)

Day 9: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Following breakfast, you will spend the whole day on a game drive in the Serengeti and have lunch at a picnic spot en-route. Depending upon the time of year, you might even have the chance to witness the great migration with hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras and Thompson gazelles. Thereafter, I drove to Ngorongoro and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 10: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park

In the morning, you will have a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater!

As an UNESCO World Heritage Site the crater offers a unique biosphere which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. There are very few places in the world where you can find such a large population of wildlife throughout the year.

Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’: Lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. For the latter two you need a bit of luck as they tend to shy away.

Approximately 30 000 animals live on the crater floor! You have your packed lunch in the crater and then head back to your lodge. In the afternoon you can relax and look back on a beautiful day. Later drive to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

Day 11: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast stretch your legs during a 2 to 3-hour village walk in cozy ‘Mto wa Mbu’. Here you will meet the local community, taste homemade banana beer, learn about the Makonde wood carvings and listen to your guide tell you everything about the way of living in this village. After the village walk, you will have a local lunch.

Then the game drove to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a small but very beautiful park offering breathtaking views, excellent game viewing and an incredible array of birdlife. You have a chance to spot a zebra, baboon, warthog, giraffe, impala, elephant, hippo, wildebeest and the rare tree climbing lion. Later in the day drive to Arusha and overnight at Planet Lodge

Day 12: after breakfast, drive to Kilimanjaro airport for the flight back home.
