3-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking

This is an exciting Uganda gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It’s an amazing experience standing eye to eye with these habituated gorillas in the lush tropics of Africa, densely compacted with canopy tree structures that form an all-night darkness, the perfect home for these magnificent creatures.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart Entebbe/Kampala for your 8-9 road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in southwestern Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the number of the world’s mountain gorillas and is the only place where chimpanzees co-exist with mountain gorillas. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for phots and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for lunch. Afterwards continue on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park.

Overnight: gorilla mist camp

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for registration before joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your trek. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day.  The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to visitors. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them, it’s an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered creatures. When the hour is up trek back to the park headquarters. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Overnight: gorilla mist camp

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe

After your breakfast, you will be driven back to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on that same day.
